Medical Tourism in Korea: Clinics, Costs & Aftercare

Last updated: September 26, 2026
Medical-tourism routes checked: September 19, 2026

Medical tourism becomes easier to plan when you separate the treatment decision from the travel package around it.

A skin treatment, plastic surgery, health screening, dental procedure and refractive eye surgery do not have the same tests, recovery time, consent questions or follow-up requirements.

This hub is the practical starting point for Korea Actually’s planned medical-care guides.

Start with the medical service you are considering.

Skin clinic or aesthetic treatment? Use the dermatology guides.

Surgery, dental care, health screening or LASIK/SMILE? Open the matching specialty guide below.

Before paying, use the cost guide. Before treatment and departure, use the aftercare guide.

Choose the Service

Skin Clinic

Use this before choosing a dermatology clinic or making the first appointment. Check the institution, doctor, consultation route, language support and who is actually responsible for the medical decision.

Lasers & Injectables

Use this when comparing lasers, energy devices, Botox, fillers, skin boosters or packaged procedures. Compare the exact treatment scope rather than the package name alone.

Plastic Surgery

Use this when surgery is being considered. Verify the clinic, named operating surgeon, anesthesia role, consent, emergency plan and postoperative responsibility.

Health Screening

Use this when choosing a self-paid screening package or arranging results in English. Compare the actual tests and the follow-up route for abnormal findings.

Dental Care

Use this when implants, crowns, root canals or other staged dental treatment must fit into a travel schedule and later care at home.

Vision Correction

Use this for candidacy testing, procedure comparisons, both-eye pricing, postoperative checks and the time needed before travel.

Before You Pay

Quotes & Extra Fees

Align the treatment scope before comparing totals. Check the clinician, quantities or materials, tests, anesthesia, follow-up, facilitator charges, deposit terms and current tax treatment.

Do not compare two medical quotes until they describe the same treatment.

A cheaper total may simply omit a test, anesthesia, material, follow-up visit or facilitator cost that another quote includes.

Before Treatment and Before Flying Home

Aftercare

Use this before the procedure is finalized. Set the Korean follow-up dates, records you must take home, warning signs, the clinician who will continue care and any airline medical requirements.

This hub is for planned care.

New severe symptoms, sudden illness, significant bleeding or another urgent problem need an appropriate medical-care route rather than an elective medical-tourism plan.
