Seoul fashion shopping becomes easier once you know what kind of shopping day you want.
Myeongdong works well when you want to compare many Korean labels efficiently. Seongsu is better suited to flagships, new labels and pop-ups. Hongdae mixes streetwear, younger brands and vintage with an evening out.
Before the trip, measure one shirt and one pair of trousers that already fit you well. Save the shoulder, chest width, length, waist and inseam in centimeters. Those numbers will usually help more than trying to translate a Korean S, M, L or FREE into a Western size.

1. Musinsa Is a Good First Stop for Korean Labels
MUSINSA grew as an online fashion platform, but its physical stores now make it useful even for travelers who do not arrive with a list of brands.
MUSINSA STORE Myeongdong, opened in January 2026, launched with more than 110 brands; MUSINSA said more than 80% were Korean labels. In-store QR codes can lead to member pricing, stock information, reviews and styling content.
A practical first visit therefore looks like this:

2. Choose the Seoul Area by the Fashion You Want

Myeongdong is the efficient first-day choice. Seongsu rewards browsing and changes quickly, so a pop-up saved from social media should be checked against your actual travel date. Hongdae can turn clothes shopping into an entire afternoon or evening. Hannam is more selective. Dongdaemun becomes particularly interesting when the industry behind the clothes matters as much as the finished garment.
3. FREE SIZE Is One Size, Not Every Size
FREE usually means that the item is sold in one size. It does not guarantee the same fit on every body.
Korean streetwear can also be intentionally oversized, which makes blanket rules such as “Korean clothing runs one or two sizes small” unreliable.
When a size chart is available, compare the garment measurements with clothing that already fits you:
If there is a fitting room, use it. Numbers narrow the choice; the garment on your body finishes it.
4. Buy Fit-Sensitive Pieces While You Still Have Time in Korea
Trousers, fitted shoes and expensive outerwear deserve more time than a cap or T-shirt. Buying them before the final night leaves room to try another size, check an exchange rule or return to the original store.
Keep the receipt and tags until you know the item is staying with you.

5. Save the Information That Lets You Find the Brand Again
A mirror selfie may remind you that you liked a jacket. It may not tell you which jacket it was six months later.
Brand name · exact product name · style/product code · color · size that actually fit · measurements when available
Then check whether the brand or MUSINSA Global serves your home country. Korean domestic and overseas catalogues can differ, so saving the exact item information is more useful than assuming it will appear under the same category later.
