Buying prescription glasses in Korea can be a very compact errand: refraction, frames, lenses, production and final fitting can all happen in one optical shop.
For glasses: an optical refraction can determine the lens power you need. For sudden vision loss, severe eye pain, trauma or new flashes and floaters: seek medical eye care rather than treating the problem as an optical-shopping visit.

1. Optical Refraction or Medical Eye Care?

3. Ask for the Total: Frame + Exact Lenses
The number attached to a frame is not necessarily the final glasses price.
Lens cost can change with prescription strength, astigmatism, index and thickness, single-vision or progressive design, coatings, photochromic or polarized options and lens brand.
If a more expensive lens is proposed: “What changes if I choose this lens?”
Those two questions make the quote easier to compare than a generic claim that one shop or country is “cheap.”
4. Can These Exact Lenses Be Ready Today?
Same-day service is realistic for many straightforward prescriptions when the required lenses are already in stock and the frame does not need unusual processing.
Strong prescriptions, substantial astigmatism, progressives, photochromic lenses, specialized designs or ordered lenses may take longer.

5. Check the Finished Glasses Before Leaving
Wear the finished pair for several minutes inside the shop. Check whether the frame slips, whether both sides sit evenly, whether the temples hurt behind the ears and whether your eyelashes touch the lenses.
Then look at something near and something far. If the prescription is more complex, give yourself enough time in Korea to wear the glasses in ordinary life and return for a frame adjustment if needed.
